The FIRST DAYS IT WAS Sunny, but i cried all the time and i wanted to go home
COMING FROM 7 DIFFERENT European countries, they are living in a NEW CITY, studying in another language, discovering different cultures, becoming European brothers and sisters.
First of all, nobody calls him Julian in Valencia. He is Eich, German civil engineering student, sport addict and uber-active. He went to Valencia to discover new things, he found two new loves: one is American Football; the other one is called Maddalena, and comes from Italy.
Outfit? Check. Law books and class notes? Check. Aperitivo? Booked. Get ready for long days at La Sapienza University, then shopping in the centre, drinking in Trastevere and enjoy Celine's Dolce Vita with her inseparable sisters in crime.
Rita applied for Erasmus as soon as she could, and this tells a lot about her. She is young and craving for experience, emotions, life. In her tiny bedroom at the huge Berlin Studentwerken Dorm she had to build up her little world of friends, memories and skype calls. She's the youngest of our family, but if you listen to her, you'll never guess that.
If you met Deniz in the morning you would think she's probably the quietest girl in Turkey: but beware, she's just sleepy. When her morning voice fades, she shows how welcoming and smiling she can be, and turns into a crazy student rocking the campus in Bordeaux with her amazing crew of friends.
Daniel is everything you expect an Erasmus student would be, just more. And better. He applied for Erasmus during his second graduation, because he didn't do it the first time. Reinventing his life with a new University career, he lives every day with the spirit of who got himself a second chance and makes the most of it. Around him there's a big family of friends, and we are so happy to have been part of it.
Zsofia is an explosive blonde mix of studying, partying, hugging, surfing and working; we followed her from early morning classes to afternoons in the beach and waitress night-shifts at a disco bar, working hard and having fun until early morning, again.
Roy speaks 7 languages, studies international business and works as a model. Funny fact: he's only 22 years old. A day with Roy is like a rollercoaster up and down the narrow streets of Istanbul, from spectacular Koch University campus to the most exclusive night clubs on the Bosphorus. Try and keep up with him, you'll get tired, but it's worth it.
All this made me ask some questions for the first time, and I found answers in other people
From a bright morning in Istanbul to a red sunset in Lisboa, sipping an espresso in Rome and drinking cervezas in Valencia. Living 24 hours with Erasmus Students.
We need to understand Europe, because our generation has to fix what went wrong with Europe
